What is Kumamoto's local sweet, "Ikinari Dango"?

Ikinari Dango is a traditional Kumamoto confectionery made with plenty of local Aso ingredients. Its appeal lies in its simple taste, made by wrapping sweet potato and red bean paste in dough and steaming it. The name comes from the Kumamoto dialect "Ikinari" (meaning easily or immediately), and it has long been a popular way to treat unexpected guests. One theory is that it has been eaten since the Edo period, during the time of Lord Kato Kiyomasa, famous for Kumamoto Castle.

The fluffy texture and freshly steamed aroma are exceptional! Why not create some travel memories with these colorful, modern Ikinari Dango?
