Aso English Hike ~Experience English and Nature~

Why not practice your English while enjoying the beautiful nature of Aso? Climb Mt. Aso with foreigners living in Aso, Kumamoto, and communicate in English and Japanese!

Anyone who wants to use English, have international exchange, or enjoy the autumn nature of Aso is welcome!

Date and time

Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025 *Will proceed even in light rain

Time: 9:00-12:00 (reception begins at 8:45)

Distance and difficulty: 2.6km round trip, elevation difference approx. 232m, beginner level. *The distance and route are easy enough for even elementary and junior high school students to climb!

Location: Mt. Yomine (altitude 913m)

Participation fee (tax included)

Per person: 1,500 yen per person

*Insurance fee, snacks (snacks), and guide fee are included. *Payment must be made in cash on the day.

Capacity

Capacity: 20 people (first come, first served)

Minimum number of participants: 5

Eligible participants

・Elementary, junior high and high school students

・Adults (Adults can participate, not just parents)

*Those who are interested in communicating in English and can hike (regardless of age or experience) *You can participate even if you don't speak any English.

*Participants must be able to wear comfortable athletic shoes and clothing. *Trekking experience is not required.

What to bring and what to wear

・Comfortable athletic shoes *It doesn't have to be trekking shoes, but we recommend athletic shoes rather than sneakers.

・Rainwear

・Warm clothing (something you can put on)/hat

・Drinks (about 1L)

・Other personal items

Precautions

・There are no toilets in the parking lot or along the course.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but please make sure to complete the necessary paperwork before attending.

In the event of bad weather, the event will be cancelled or postponed.

The decision on whether the tour will be held will be made by 1:00 PM the day before.

This trekking tour is covered by the following JA Kyosai accident insurance.

・Death/permanent disability: up to 3 million yen

・When you receive treatment or surgery: Mutual aid payments will be made according to the area and symptoms.

*We will also pay for outpatient visits.

Program Content

A free shuttle bus will be provided by the organizers and there will be no additional charge.

Any accidents that occur during operation will be covered by insurance. If you wish to use this service, please respond when applying.
